The Property Brokerage was founded in 2017 by award-winning Property Entrepreneur Mark Barrett to offer a specialist sourcing service for clients of The HMO Agency which Mark founded in 2016.
Mark’s background was initially in the Greater Manchester Police Force, before leaving and becoming a mortgage broker where he specialised on helping to fund investors property portfolios, as well as having a Brokerage in Marbella, Spain.
Mark has been a Landlord for over 25 years, as well as being on the Property Entrepreneur Board since 2016. He has also represented the National Landlords Association in the North West as well as providing comment on HMO legislative changes.
Mark successfully started, systemised and scaled The HMO Agency to become one of the leading lettings agencies for HMOs (Houses of Multiple Occupation) in the North West.
In 2019 The Agency was acquired by Multi Let UK as part of their expansion into the North West and we continue to work with existing and new clients to help develop their portfolios.
The Property Brokerage offers a full Portfolio Builder Service in the North West for clients wanting a hands-free service, ranging from Buy To Let Investments, HMOs and larger projects such as pub and office conversions.
David Edmondson recently joined The Property Brokerage as a Director. He brings a wealth of business experience having started, scaled and sold his telecommunications business to an overseas public company in a multi-million pound deal. Genesis Consultancy grew to employ 155 high level engineers with overseas projects and entities in EMEA, Asia Pacific and USA. David exited via a trade sale to GTL Limited. He secured the sale by working closely with the corporate finance company, Livingston Partners. David is an active landlord and invests in Manchester and the North West.

Mark was inspired to help this great cause not long after the birth of his 2 girls and experiencing the joy of a child’s smile. Mark suggested to Dan Hill about adopting the charity for The Property Entrepreneur Get Up Give Back program and The Smile365 Campaign was born, with the goal of raising funds for a new operation every day of the year which subsequently went on to raise sufficient funds for 500 operations.
The Property Brokerage continues to donate funds for a new Smile for every new project completed.
